January sunrise at Nose Hill Park, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. According to the Friends of Nose Hill Society, the park is the largest urban natural area in Canada. It is comprised of 2,700 acres of grassland in the heart of the city’s northwest quadrant.

I used to live two minutes from Nosehill Park and be there several times a week all year. The park looked so different from season to season. This is such a beautiful photograph. ~Thea
Thanks so much, Thea! Nose Hill is one of my favourite places to walk – I try to get up there as often as I can. I particularly love it in the spring, when the wildflowers start to bloom!
